April 3: Adventure!’s 9th Anniversary: Great Britain Baking Mystery (21+)

This 21+ evening invites our guests to participate as suspects and investigators in a fun, interactive mystery experience! You’ll dress up for a night of baking fun, we’ll provide the character roles, clues, and hints along the way, helping solve the mystery.

$25 per person, $50 per pair until March 1st. After March 1st, price increases to $35 per person and $60 per pair.

April 4: Adopt-a-Duckling Day

Find a rubber duckling hiding in the museum, make it a habitat and accessories in the Art Lab, and fill out the adoption certificate to make that duckling your own!

No reservations required. Event runs from noon till 4 p.m. and is included with regular museum admission or membership.

Please adopt just one duckling, to ensure all visitors can participate!

Our fun and lively guest musician, Chauncey Mauney, returns for a fun, interactive performance on February 14! Join us at 2 p.m. (come early to ensure best options for seating) in Adventure!'s Globe Theatre. This event is included with your admission or membership thanks to grant funding! Chauncey Mauney is a performing and devising artist specializing in theatre, music, songwriting, storytelling, and accessible programming. His work with children and young adults has spanned two decades, four states (not including tours), and includes credits with Chicago Children’s Theatre, The Red Kite Project, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Chauncey has a particular knack and affinity for working with people with disabilities, making access and inclusion cornerstones in his engagements. He has been on the Lane Arts Council’s roster of teaching artists since moving to Eugene in 2021; this has given him the opportunity to bring his skills and talents to scores of children and classrooms in the form of residencies, assemblies, camps, and professional development for teachers.

Adventure! is a community gathering place created with love to support children (and their families) as they grow as artists, explorers, and innovators. This is especially important during times of stress and strain. We have decided to open tomorrow (Friday 1/30) from 11am to 5pm to be this community gathering place, and stand in solidarity with our immigrant and refugee neighbors. Our credit card readers will be down, and our gift shop will be closed. Membership families and pass-holders will be welcome. Cash payments for admission will be accepted as needed, with proceeds to benefit vulnerable people in our community. Kindness matters here!

Nostalgia Sunday! Assistant manager Finn first joined our team at Adventure! in 2019 as a volunteer. We hired him to join our paid staff in February of 2020, a few weeks before we closed due to Covid. Not great timing, but we're so glad we've had Fin
Nostalgia Sunday! Assistant manager Finn first joined our team at Adventure! in 2019 as a volunteer. We hired him to join our paid staff in February of 2020, a few weeks before we closed due to Covid. Not great timing, but we're so glad we've had Finn on our team in the years since then. These past six years, Finn has been a willing team player with a good attitude and solid work ethic. His gentleness and kindness towards children has made him a favorite of summer campers and regular visitors alike, who swarm him like bees to honey. Finn is quiet, kind, creative, and patient. He has led countless treasure hunts and craft projects for birthday party groups. He is always the first to pitch in when anything needs doing, even if the tasks are unpleasant. Seriously, the number of potty accidents Finn has cleaned up is bananas. Today is Finn's last day working at the museum with us. He's moving on to other opportunities, and we are going to miss him like crazy. Finn! You will always be a part of Adventure! Thank you for sticking with this nutty little art project these past six years, and cheers to the adventures ahead on your journey! If Finn has been a favorite of yours these past several years, please feel free to share your good memories and any photos in the comments. We'll make sure he sees them, one way or another.

Ella's been with us ever since, a creative and conscientious coworker with a fun sense of humor and strong ties with coworkers. We're so grateful to have worked with Ella during their college years, watching this fledgling teacher work with visitors and campers, gently reminding young performers of their lines in a play, patiently teaching little fashion designers to sew. Can you see where we're heading with this, readers? Today we celebrate the next step in Ella's journey: leaving Adventure! to pursue a career in education. Ella, we are going to miss your smile, your kindness, and your playful spirit around the museum, but we know the kids you work with are going to love you as much as we do.
