What a great summer we had at the museum! Our visitors over the past few months can attest that we rarely had a lull in traffic, and that the museum was humming all summer with the buzz of activity. Our regular weekly activities like Pokémon Club, Sensory Play Wednesdays, Saturday Morning Cartoons, Thursday Music, and Friday Story Time added to the general busy-ness, and it was great to have all the 1-Pass users in attendance!

Now that school is back in session and the weather is changing, we are in need of some concentrated days to do maintenance and repair on exhibits that need some loving care after hard-use this summer. We have a nice, long list of items to fix up and deep clean, and we’re dedicated to keeping up our schedule of community play dates (for EC Cares and Well Mama), community classes (led by Dynamic Young Minds), and birthday parties intact. With that in mind, we are planning to be closed on Monday and Tuesday, September 30th and October 1.

You can anticipate a reopening date of October 2nd!

Volunteers will be needed for both days of our closure to help with painting, repair, and replacement tasks. If you would like to assist, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Hana, at 541-653-9629. Corporate groups, high school students, and individuals welcome to volunteer with us for however long you’re able!
