Explore Our Exhibits
The Sustainable Village was once our Recycled Village, with the original structures made entirely of cardboard. After five years and daily use, as well as funding from Eugene Riverfront Festival during the World Athletics Championships in 2022, the Recycled Village was disassembled and the Sustainable Village emerged. This exhibit debuted at the Festival in July before finding a permanent home in the museum. We partnered with BRING Recycling, Prince Puckler’s, Kiva Grocery, Oregon BottleDrop, Eugene Habitat for Humanity ReStore, NextStep, and local donors to highlight creative reuse in this exhibit. Visitors can:
serve ice cream and baked goods;
design their own room with paint chips, poster art, and carpet squares;
operate a farm fresh grocery stand;
operate a diner of various foods and two tables for serving; and
explore how bicycles are made.
