We're changing things up this summer: a single week of fast-paced theatre arts camp has evolved into two sessions of Adventure! Summer Stock Theatre Company! Session one meets on Thursday and Friday mornings from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with optional Monday evening set building from 6-8, June 18 through July 18. This is a drop-off camp for kids age 8 and older who are excited to create a play and can read independently.
Experience five weeks of real theatre kid life, from memorizing lines to making costumes, learning blocking, and more! Our play for this first session is "Two Chairs and a Lie" by Pizarella & Green, and is intended for actors age 8 and older. Witnesses to a poodle-napping are asked to tell what they saw, in hopes of finding a beloved missing pet . . . but is everyone telling the truth? This humorous whodunnit is a lot of fun. Invite friends and family to the final performance on July 18 at 2 p.m.!
Families are asked to commit to the full camp session, which will require rehearsing lines at home AND the final performance on Saturday, July 18 at 2 p.m.
Scheduled rehearsals are Thursdays and Fridays from 10-1, to accommodate a regular schedule for families for five consecutive weeks.
Monday night set-building from 6-8 is optional, and families can participate alongside their theatre kids.
This camp experience is intended for children age 8-15. Campers are expected to adhere to a camp code of conduct, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all kids in our care.
Camp size will be limited due to the number of roles in the play.
Experienced stage manager and camp leader Asher will be joined by two background-checked summer camp aides/production assistants to ensure a safe, positive experience for all participants.
Scholarships are available! If the cost of Adventure! Summer Stock Theatre (or any other children's program) is cost-prohibitive, we offer limited scholarships for enthusiastic performers who can commit to the rehearsal and performance dates.
