Weekend Visitor Services
$16-$18 dependent upon experience
Position Summary
The Weekend Visitor Services position is responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for visitors. We’re seeking a cheerful, friendly, outgoing, and responsible person to assist our team during busy weekend days, picking up after visitors and ensuring the museum remains a safe and clean environment for everyone to enjoy. This position interacts daily with visitors of all ages and abilities, in a typically fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Cleaning and sanitizing of museum exhibits and surfaces
Cleaning and sanitizing floors, including vacuuming, shampooing carpets, sweeping, dusting, and mopping
Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and remain on your feet for extended periods of time, as this is an active position requiring extensive pick-up and cleaning of areas meant for children
Working with cleaning chemicals; we provide gloves and masks to staff and volunteers as needed
Interacting with children and families and demonstrating positive customer service
Planning or preparing crafts and activities as needed
Front desk tasks as needed which may include cash-handling, processing payments, completing membership forms, answering the phone, and customer service skills
Qualifications and Requirements
Job or volunteer references required
Staff must be safe around children; a criminal history background check is required for anyone age 18+
Weekend availability from 11am to 7:30pm
Adventure! is a drug-free workplace
Lifting up to 30 pounds as needed
Experience in customer service and/or working with children preferred
Experience with cash-handling preferred
Dress code is casual but appropriate for child-friendly environments; upon hire, an apron and Adventure! shirt are provided
CPR/First Aid certification preferred
Comfort around cleaning chemicals and loud environments
