Accessible Museum Visits with Museums for All at Adventure! Children’s Museum

At Adventure! Children’s Museum, we believe in making museum access affordable for all families. That’s why we participate in the Museums for All program, an initiative by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the Association of Children’s Museums. Since opening in 2017, we’ve relied on fundraising and grants to financially support this program, and we’re dedicated to continuing this mission!

Post-Covid Adjustments to Museums for All

After reopening in 2021 following the Covid-19 closure, we had to set strict limits on the number of Museums for All admissions. This wasn’t ideal, so in 2022, 2023, and 2024, we simplified the rules:

• Visitors must present a valid Oregon Trail card and a photo ID.
• A limit of 4 reduced-cost admissions per household, per visit.
• Admissions are restricted to those living at the address associated with the Oregon Trail card.

Our goal is to ensure museum access for families who will benefit the most, which has required careful adjustments to our program.

What’s New for Museums for All in 2025

Starting January 1, 2025, we’re making some changes to improve access for participating families:

• The per-visit admission cost remains $2.50 for each visitor aged 2 and older, but the household limit will INCREASE from 4 to 6 visitors.
• Instead of an Oregon Trail card, families will need to provide proof of current program enrollment via the Oregon One app and a valid photo ID. Only household members who are enrolled will be eligible for the discounted rate.
• Discounted memberships will be available for purchase. To qualify, families need to show proof of enrollment through a verified benefits letter (dated within six months) or the Oregon One app, along with a valid photo ID.
